Innovations in Luke Dale-Roberts’ kitchens

Luke Dale Roberts Pot Luck ClubThere seems to be a lot happening in Chef Luke Dale Roberts’ kitchens The Pot Luck Club and The Test Kitchen. First up, Luke will be opening a pop-up Pot Luck Club Verbier in Switzerland, running until April to catch the ski season which starts at the beginning of December. Partly to explore his Swiss roots, the restaurant will be frequented by guests from all over the globe and allows the staff a fantastic opportunity to work overseas. Luke enthuses, “I’m excited to see the Pot Luck Club go to Switzerland for the first time. It gives me enormous pleasure to help provide platforms for my key staff to spread their wings, see the world and progress in this exciting career. I look forward to doing more of this in the future.”

The Pot Luck Club has also partnered with Almenkerk Wine Estate in Elgin Valley to produce a red and white wine under the Pot Luck Club label. The Red is a blend of Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Viognier, creating a full-bodied wine that pairs well with meat and gamey dishes. The white is a crisp Sauvignon Blanc that pairs well with the fatty dishes on the menu such as the yellowtail. Luke will also be partnering with Chef Giorgio Nava and gallery owner Johans Borman to cook at a charity Gala Dinner in aid of The Homestead. Luke explains “I’ve wanted to get closely involved with a charity as a new resident to South Africa. Our friends’ involvement with this project has brought home the reality of the problems faced by children living on streets. I want to help to make a difference to their lives”
