Stellenbosch wine estate Kleine Zalze is starting of awards season in style with three gold medals gained at the Concours Mondial wine show held in Guimerães in Portugal. This wine awards show, now in its 18th year, is judged by an international panel of wine experts and over 8000 wines were tasted blind by the judges over three days. Only the very best were announced Grande Medaille d’Or, Medaille d’Or and Medaille d’Argent, amongst them, the Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Matured 2009, Vineyard Selection Chenin Blanc 2011 and the Family Reserve Shiraz 2009.
The Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Matured 2009 was just one of five South African wines to win a Grand Gold, and the Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection Chenin Blanc 2011 and Family Reserve 2009 both received gold medals.
