Spring in New York celebrated by Relais & Châteaux

Relais and Chateux DinnerOn the 16th of April, Gotham Hall on Broadway was transformed for the second edition of the Dîner Des Grand Chefs Relais & Châteaux. 45 of the Association’s Grand Chefs gathered in New York to pay tribute to American produce and 10 different nationalities were represented from all over the world. Legendary chefs such as Daniel Boulud and Patrick O’Connell were there, and up-and-coming stars included César Troisgros, Christopher Kostow and, representing SA, Peter Tempelhoff.

Proudly American produce included asparagus, morels, Maine scallops, sea bass from Montauk and rack of lamb. Each table had their own customised menu, prepared by 3 chefs in open pop-up kitchens in front of the guests. This celebration was held together by 42 maîtres d’hôtel, 12 sommeliers in a beautifully decorated hall which was decked in vegetation, top to bottom, with the colours of spring.
