The Jordan Restaurant with George Jardine, Stellenbosch
Highly acclaimed chef George Jardine and equally highly acclaimed winemakers Gary and Kathy Jordan have teamed up to open a new restaurant on Jordan Wine Estate. The restaurant, called “The Jordan Restaurant with George Jardine”, seats 80 guests, either indoors or on the outside patio, complete with magnificent views of vineyards. It is open for lunch Tuesday to Sunday with a special tasting menu available on Thursday and Friday evenings. The restaurant is a natural progression for the Jordans, who have deliberately cultivated an environment in which their superb wines (including those made for the Cape Winemakers Guild), plus one of two from neighbouring estates, can be enjoyed with superb food. George Jardine’s menu will focus on local and seasonal ingredients and includes the likes of roasted artichoke heart with new season broad beans olive oil and lemon or wood fired Kimililli suckling pig with rosemary and lemon or butter and thyme poached yellow tail with wild nettle risotto. His restaurant also houses a selection of fine South African cheeses in a walk-in cheese room plus a wood-fired oven and custom-built char grill, with which to cook different wood and vine coals. Booking is essential.
